TL;DR The market has spoken and fake meat has much less demand than anticipated. Besides being terrible for you, the business is failing, the product tastes like ass, and they are lying about amount and quality of protein (allegedly I should say to cover my ass). In other words protein is not created equally. Animal protein is best.
What’s the problem?
Fake meat is nonsense and it’s not about health at all. From a perspective of nutrition, namely protein which is the main driver behind meat consumption, Fake Meat is definitely worse for you.
The product itself doesn’t stem from decisions based on health, but rather decisions based on woke ideologies (usually malnourished people with blue or pink hair and nose rings, and pencil necks).
The fake meat industry sustains itself in two ways:
Giant faceless conglomerates who want to increase profit of foods but market it as “saving the planet” with unlimited funding
Vegans who buy it because they believe they are “saving the planet” (but they still want to PRETEND they are eating meat)
Question for vegans: Why do you need something that resembles meat?
Trying to make fake meat with all the ingredients of real meat but without the animal protein is a Frankenstein experiment. Smashing all these ingredients together and heating it up doesn’t make it comparable to meat in flavor or nutrition.
When you raise or hunt animals for food, their body goes through processes of building muscle and fat which we then consume. When we consume them meat nourishes our bodies much more cleanly and efficiently than some dude in a lab coat pressing mung beans together in a sterile, stainless-steel kitchen.
Beyond Meat is a Giant Failure
They tried really hard but ultimately failed at recreating God’s creation: meat.
Apparently, vegans don’t understand the circle of life or nutrition. With Life comes death and with death comes life. Death sustains life in many ways whether it be food or freedom.
For Pete’s sake, Beyond is losing market share to SPAM.
Beyond meat is attributing inflation and pricing to their failure, but we all know it’s because it tastes like sh*t and is about as appealing as a rubber chicken.
Compared to real meat of any kind, it’s stats suck and they lied about the quality and amount of protein.
The Market has spoken…
Beyond meat has lost close to $100 million dollars last year.
Meanwhile, SPAM has sold more each year for 7 consecutive years.
Beyond “Meat” Ingredients
Just take a look at the ingredients. No wonder some are suffering from stomach pains:
Vegans and vegetarians have virtuous reasoning behind their diets and lifestyles. The #1 reason anyone switches to a vegan diet is NOT health. It’s because they don’t want to hurt animals (but pesticides are cool, huh?)
On the other hand, I eat a lot of meat because I am focused on avoiding processed foods and nutrient density. Meat is a superfood.
Beyond meat is processed crap.
These ingredients are not found naturally nor combined naturally. Ingredients added to “add or maintain color” aren’t good for you. It’s a processed food.
Also, seed oils ain’t good either…
The QUALITY of Protein Matters
Protein quality has to do with digestability and absorbtion.
Just because you eat 20 grams of protein doesn’t mean it’s USABLE. You need it to be paired with micronutrients and amino acids to actually let your body capitalize on it.
In this study they found that protein absorbtion was sub-optimal in the plant-based protein compared to chicken breast.
Fake Meat (probably) isn’t Going Anywhere for a while
2 reasons why I say this:
The ‘elite corporations’ are funding this narrative and backing these companies alongside governments (including Bill Gates) with unlimited funds
They’re marketing is really good (because they just lie) and their customers eat it up.
As long as they keep marketing fake meat as saving the planet, sheep will continue to buy it because they can’t think critically about the contents, where they come from, and the energy it takes to produce them (there aren’t electric tractors that can plow soy fields).
People will eat fake meat to feel good about their “carbon footprint” or some crap. In reality, it takes much more carbon to create a “mung bean burger” than it does to produce an angus burger.
Beyond meat is failing but doesn’t mean it’s going away.
The Solution
Don’t pretend to save cows at the cost of your own health. Eat meat raised ethically and locally. Learn to Hunt. Befriend a few local butchers. Get out of major metropolitan areas. Avoid to vegan groupthink and educate yourself.
A couple people to pay attention to include Steven Rinella who is an avid hunter and owner of meat eater and Shawn Baker MD owner of on youtube, he owns Revero Health.
And of course, join off grid empire.
"Believer Meats" is opening a new facility in NC. The first sentence of this article tells you all you need to know about fake meats:
